El documento que estoy traduciendo es un folleto de ventas de una ciudad resort de playa aquí en Panamá, donde se ofrecen lotes o propiedades para construir residencias en la playa.

Si le gusta la aventura y los deportes acuáticos, o si sencillamente quiere tomar un baño de sol, en nuestro Club de Playa encontrará todas las comodidades junto al mar: piscina, restaurante, cómodos ***bohíos***, sillas para tomar el sol, baños y vestidores.

Luego, en otro párrafo, donde hablan de la construcción de la residencia en la playa:
"Nos encargamos además de su piscina, cerca, bohío, garaje, depósito, casa de huéspedes, casa del cuidador, entre otros."

Ahora bien, sé qué es exactamente un bohío en Panamá. Es algo prácticamente de rigor en cualquier lugar donde haya una piscina o una playa. De hecho, acá está la definición, según el DRAE:

Cabaña de América, hecha de madera y ramas, cañas o pajas y sin más respiradero que la puerta.

El problema es que no se me ocurre cómo llamarlo en inglés. No es "cabin", pero "cabana" no sé si es lo mismo.

Y me hecho un lío con una palabra tan pequeña como lo es "bohío". :(

incluso hay otras ideas tales como "kiosk, pavilion y open summerhouse" que pueden ser pero son estructuras practicamente abiertas, lo cual puede variar con el bohío ya que puede ser abierto o cerrado. Los bungalows originalmente eran moradas sencillas (de Bengala)de un piso y techo bajo. Ahora la palabra bungalow puede abarcar desde un "cottage" o "cabana" sencillo hasta una casa de playa de varias habitaciones.

Muchas gracias a todos. Al final, para la primera opción (bohío sencillo en la playa), puse "beach hut", y para la segunda (más lujoso/grande en una residencia), "bungalow".

Another option that has a certain tropical "flavor" to it is the Hawaiian word "lanai" :-)

Of course, I agree with everyone who has said that a "bohío" is a hut. (This word is common in the Dominican Republic, as well.)
