Tengo que traducir "tesis final" de la carrera (Administración)Encontré que "thesis" se usa con PhD y masters, y "dissertation" para undergraduate degrees(Oxford source).Es así? Mi duda es también si varía en US o UK y qué iría en cada caso, y si puedo decir undergraduate thesis en vez de undergraduate dissertation.

En Reino Unido, dissertation se usa como ejercicio de final de carrera o de MA. Thesis es para el PhD. He cursado un MA y un PhD en una universidad británica y ahora soy lector en la misma universidad. Así es como se le llama aquí. Creo que en Us funciona al revés.

Explanation:
I'm English, we used to call this piece of work a dissertation but nowadays we can it a final project. When I attended uni for the first 2 years we call it a dissertation and for the last 2 a final project.

undergraduate thesis

Yo he visto tanto tesis como disertaciones a nivel licenciatura (carrera) y a nivel posgrado (maestría y doctorado). Por eso me mantendría lo más cercana posible del significado de la palabra en el idioma fuente, pero agregaría lo de "undergraduate" para aclarar cualquier confusión que pudiera surgir.

Final Thesis


Explanation:
Soy profesora en una universidad estadounidense. Normalmente, thesis y dissertation se usan de la siguiente manera:

A nivel subgraduado (licenciatura) normalmente se usan Final Thesis o Final Project. También a veces Undergraduate Thesis.

Con respecto al posgrado, si se refiere a una maestría (Master's Degree) se usa Thesis. Si es para el doctorado (PhD) normalmente se usa dissertation.
