Context: Schade aan de ter beschikking gestelde ruimte, "footprint" of "server rack", die veroorzaakt wordt door inbraak of poging tot inbraak, dan wel vandalisme komt ten laste van de klant.

Waar duidt "server rack" op? Ik heb het in deze context noch in Nederlandstalige, noch in Engelstalige documenten gevonden.

Hetzelfde probleem heb ik met "footprint"... Ook daarvoor is elke suggestie welkom...

Hier moet je een NL-talige tekst naar het engels vertalen, dus volgens mij moet je deze termen toch in het engels laten staan. Wat betreft de betekenis van server rack, heb je al antwoord gekregen. agree  Jack den Haan: @Asker: Het gaat m.i. om een technische term, niet een verzekeringsterm. Het antwoord van Jacques is technisch correct, al zijn er meer wegen die naar Rome leiden, bijv. server(bevestigings)frame. Het is gewoon een rek waarin een apparaat wordt geplaatst.

It's the racking in which the computers/servers are stacked. A 'footprint' is the space a computer/or anything else for that matter occupies, e.g. the foorprint of a car is appraximately 1.5 x 3 metres.
