English term or phrase: for a reason
A guy met his girlfriend's mum on the street. She shouted at him for laying his "dirty hands" on her daughter. Now he's relating the incident to his girlfriend.

-I don't do parents. I'm not that guy. Nobody brings me home to Mom for a reason, okay? I'm a total backseat, get-in-the-closet, jump-out-the-window dude, all the way.

His behavior justifies his not being properly introduced as a beau.

Explanation:
He is saying that, with respect to women, he is out for what HE can get, not to be the marrying, family guy. Thus, women do not take him home to mother (why is Rick James going thru my head right now?) as a potential spouse.
