Our sales and marketing priorities at XXX were the construction of a comprehensive customer database and a knowledge base, a broader-based data analysis capability, and improved data quality. Our goals were faster business process execution, better measurement of results, as well as relieving inside and field sales staff of routine administrative tasks. In our functional specifications for the operational CRM system, we included a requirement for end-to-end processes between the customer and the back-end system. We also placed a lot of emphasis on an easy-to-use and customizable front-end. As a result, the CRM system has enabled us to significantly increase the efficiency of all our customer-oriented processes.
On a functional level, we implemented promotion, ***order and listing management***; on-site data analysis; sales trip and weekly plans; field sales management; and travel expense entry. Aside from the functional considerations, we also had strict criteria for the ROI. These included an increase in the number of customer visits by field sales staff, a reduction of gaps in the distribution channels, the optimization of promotion management, a reduction of non-payment issues in the catering trade, and financial savings from the process optimization.

Customer data are only entered or changed by the field sales staff, and then uploaded automatically to the ERP system. The same is true of travel expenses, which are converted to accounting entries using workflow. Workflow also optimizes order entry, beer delivery contracts, and outdoor advertising plans. Our field sales staff have all the customer information they need, including ***listings***, conditions, contract information, and clauses. Another function useful to field sales is the alarm. Beyond certain thresholds, sales staff receive a notification of, for example, a contract coming up for renewal, open orders, customers’ birthdays, revenue anomalies, or ***listing changes***. There are currently about 160 users of the operational and analytical CRM systems since we deployed it in March 2003. Analytical reports are already integrated into the operational system. Among the online and offline analyses available to staff are direct and indirect revenue figures, distribution gaps, promotion evaluations, customer visit statistics, product assortment potentials, pricing information on competitors, and contract fulfillment lists. Depending on the type of report, the information is updated daily, weekly, or monthly.

agree  Steffen Walter: Ja, vorausgesetzt, das betreffende Unternehmen hat irgendwelche Geschäftsbeziehungen mit dem (Einzel)handel. Ansonsten gibt's ja z. B. im Immobilienbereich noch den Begriff des "broker(age) listing".
