French term or phrase: Toitures végétabilitées
In some real estate specifications for a project, talking about the description of a building. The sentences before mention false ceilings, lifts, lighting etc. Could this be a vegetable roof-top garden??

Any other ideas welcome!

green roofs
Explanation:
The word I found is végétabilisées. The mention of “thermal inertia” led me to the term “green roof”:

Les toitures sont végétabilisées (inertie thermique). Calendrier. Démolition: mars/mai 2004. Construction: juin 2004 … février 2005 ...

Modern green roof technology is the result of advanced material research in Europe over the past 35 years. Green roofs are thin layers of living plants that are installed on top of conventional roofs. Using strict design standards, green roofs duplicate many of the same processes found in nature. As in nature green roofs help control storm water runoff, improve water quality, reduce erosion as well as pollution in the environment.

The word "végétabilitées" still looks strange to me, and this is partly because "végétabilité" exists as a noun.

Explanation:
The likelihood of this being a rooftop vegetable garden seems to be slim, particularly if this is a list of property features.
However, I believe that it may refer to the capacity of the rooftops to be made into garden rooftops. In other words, they are in an unplanted state. Does this make any sense?

A rooftop vegetable garden would more likely be referred to as "toiture jardin potager"

ecoroof

Explanation:
That's my preferred term for "toiture végétalisée", at least, but other terms are used: green roof, turf roof, sedum roof, etc. Run a ProZ Term Search on "toiture végétalisée". It has been asked before, and once quite recently too.

On further reflection, I wonder if the term is not used consciously, to say that the roof is designed in accordance with the possibility of installing an ecoroof (which presupposes a certain strength and waterproofing, not to mention special root-penetration barriers, etc.) but that the actual plants and/or earth are not part of the package (extra over, possibly to be provided by a specialist contractor). Does your text possibly hint at this?

Something like "eco-capable roof"?
