Nelle libere (free practices) del mattino tra le due rosse si sono piazzate le McLaren di Alonso e Hamilton, nel pomeriggio le Renault di Fisichella e Kovalainen, probabilmente scariche di benzina. I distacchi sono nell'ordine dei 2-8 decimi, ma e' sul ritmo gara che il divario appare netto.

ricordo che esiste anche la "pace car" che in caso di incidente entra in pista ed impone un ritmo /un passo di gara più lento in modo da permettere lo sgombro della pista ed il ripristino delle condizioni normali
