Does anyone there master Optic Fiber transmission, equipment, terminology, etc?

I’m dealing with a monitoring system – wire fences, cameras, etc. – to be installed in a farm in Mato Grosso, owned by an Arab potentate. I have access to some specialized dictionaries but only English-English. I know what they mean but I am not sure how to translate it. Could someone help me, please?

Equipment to be installed:

PM Fused Coupler = Acoplador ligado à PM (Phase Modulation = Modulação de Fase)?
Acoplador PM Fundido?
Ou o quê?

Not sure if 'afilamento' can be used in this case. I guess it's the best word to describe this type of technique (fibers get stretched and, fusion and tapering produces a single piece of glass in the coupling region).
