Womöglich müsse die Debatte um sogenannte "No-Go-Areas" auf den Westen ausgeweitet werden. Als "No-Go-Areas" werden Regionen bezeichnet, in denen der Aufenthalt für Ausländer gefährlich sein könnte. Knobloch und andere Politiker hatten von solchen Regionen etwa nach der jüngsten Hetzjagd auf Inder im sächsischen Mügeln gesprochen.

it's pretty ambiguous in retrospect and "ausgeweitet" could refer to the "West" too ... "extended" as a translation would be ok though I think ...
