CaO=Oxido de Calcio

O processamento mineralúrgico das rochas feldspáticas, essencialmente granitos, pegmatitos e aplitos, é estabelecido tendo em conta o teor mineral, a presença e tipo de impurezas e o grau de qualidade que se pretende para o produto extraído. As impurezas são essencialmente constituídas por óxidos de ferro (Fe2O3), de magnésio (MgO) e de cálcio (CaO), uma vez que estas substâncias contribuem para a formação de fases líquidas que dão origem a zonas de fragilização do material; por isso os teores em MgO e CaO devem ser mantidos abaixo de 0.5% e o teor em Fe2O3 abaixo de 0.1
