"Neredeyse mükemmel bir Türkçem olduğu için söylediklerimi iyi anlamıyor olabilirsiniz."

Doğal olarak bu cümlede kastettiğim mükemmel bir Türkçem olmaması. Cümlenin hem İngilizcesi'nde hem Türkçe'sinde
ironi var.

İngilizce'deki bu terimin karşılığı "neredeyse mükemmel" dir ancak cümle aynı İngilizce'sindeki gibi ironi ile kurulmalı. Bence eğer "mükemmel değil/olmayan" gibi bir şey dersek bu ironiyi çeviride kaybetmiş oluruz.

Bağlama göre "o kadar/öyle/öylesine mükemmel" de kullanılabilir.

"O kadar mükemmel üflüyordu ki klarneti, aletten borazan sesi çıkıyordu."
Çok kötü çalıyordu/çalamıyordu anlamına.
"Arabayı öyle mükemmel kullanıyordu ki yolda girip çıkmadığımız
çukur kalmadı."
"Neredeyse mükkemmel bir akşam yaşadığımız için elektriklerin kesilmesi de hiç sürpriz olmadı."

Gulay Baran: Kesinlikle! Burada olumlu anlamda kullanılıyor. Eğer olumsuz şekilde yani "mükemmellikten uzak" olarak kullanılsaydı "far from perfect" denilirdi.

Nagme Yazgin: I do agree that there is an irony going on, but translating it as 'almost perfect' (neredeyse mükemmel) might be misleading - unless you have a proper/sufficient context to support this.

-> If you accept irony exists in that Eng phrase than the Turkish translation should also be positive to preserve that irony. Please look at my Turkish examples. They all say s.o. is/does s.t. perfect but they all mean at the end he is not thanks to irony.
