I am positive that threading is "roscagem", as a substantive, or "roscar" as a verb. As to the term tailout I am rather taking it as a logical development of the process: if you are threading a rod and you must cut it into regular pieces you may be "tailing it out"

agree  Rosalis: In a mailing/expedition system, the interpretation above is correct. In metallurgy is completely different. Threading is the process of grooving a spiral into a metal rod so that you may screw it to a nut or other matching threaded part.
