Swedish term or phrase: kabelkatt
Om metoden ovan inte kan användas kan man istället använda motordrivna kabelmatare ”kabelkatter”.

Can't find any reference to the obvious 'cable cat'!

Caterpillar cable feeder
Explanation:
I think that the Swedish "Katt" comes from the English abbreviation for caterpillar - CAT. My guess is that someone along the line misunderstood or deliberately created a Swedish form that didn't consider this.

I don't ge any hits for this suggeston per se, but that may be because English speakers haven't felt the need for signifying the technology used (i.e caterpillar tracks) to achieve the machines function (to feed the cable).

disagree  Fredrik Nowacki: Seems a bit too specific with a model number (don't you think :?). Your links gave me a good lead though.

Explanation:
You might just want to delete the Sw term "kabelkatter". There really is no English equivalent.
