English term or phrase: get me
Except, there came a period of time when it didn’t. Even after all we’d been through between us, and all I’d witnessed with my clients, there came a point where I lost hope. Neither one of us could pull out of our fights. I honestly thought we were so far gone we could not recoup. I was fairly certain we were headed for a divorce. (Ruth started calling me “Mr. Differentiation.”)

It was during this time I recognized my subjective experience that coincides with my losing myself and becoming reptilian: I think I have perfect clarity about the situation, every one of Ruth’s faults, and how the two go together. I feel I am magnificently maintaining myself against Ruth’s attempt to “get me.” It took three weeks for me to realize I had totally lost myself.

sorry about this quote, but:
'bad hair day'...... 'yep, it's the hair gods out to get me, cuz I'm freaking divorced!'
I cannot even afford a haircut!! I look like hell! But tan...boy am I ever tan!

Don't feel bad Taryn...I moved but I am now unemployed and still unattached with no prospects in sight. Oh except for the friends with benefits and I do not want them! Pity too! One of them is such a good kisser!
