Habitual=common=usual=recurrent=repetitive=customary, etc. Take your pick according to source's context and stay as close to it as possible. The translator must transfer the message from a language to another in the most proper way, within context, without editing or altering the text. All 4 definitions quoted by Mr. Russi qualify "habitual" to be used in this context albeit its not so common use. "Not too common" does not equate with "incorrect. " Furthermore, you are translating for a broader group of readers, so the terms used must, still within context, be as universal as possible. |
