More welding questions:

The heading here is:
Correzioni di fusioni e ritiri al rovescio.
The explanation is:
"Le saldature che presentano **fusioni posteriori o ritiri al rovescio** possono essere riparate mediante deposito di materiale di apporto sul lato opposto a quello frontale del giunto purché il progetto ammetta la presenza di tale materiale nella zona riparata"

Part of my problem is that I'm not always sure how to translate the word "fusioni" - sometimes it is castings, sometimes fusions, etc.
I have even run these doubts by my welding expert, to no avail!
Thanks for your help!

Explanation:
see references. This seems to be what is being said. You might want to wait for a more authoritative response, as I am not by any means an expert. Nevertheless, these answers seem to make sense in the context and appear to be part of the terminology of welding.

Thanks you, Cedric, I appreciate your input. In the end I used "back weld" rather than "back fusion" (corroborated by client) and "back shrinking", as you suggested.
