agree  Rosmu: No es que sea opcional, es que en plural esta expresión es incorrecta. Tan sólo es correcta en singular.

  -> Gracias, Rosmu. Se ve que me he confundido. En plural se usa mucho, e incluso se encuentra en diccionarios como alternativa ("a puerta(s) cerrada(s): behind closed doors", Oxford), pero mi mujer también me dice ahora que se dice en singular.
