Casing is the process of spraying, soaking, or dipping the leaves in flavorings such as fruit juices. cocoa, menthol, or other materials. In addition to providing flavor, many flavoring agents have other useful qualities, such as the ability to improve moisture retention. After casing, the tobacco is toasted, to mellow its flavor, and then reordered.
