Italian term or phrase: pregresso di una parte
This is from a service agreement between a telecoms company and an IT services company that will be providing help desk services.
The definitions include "pregresso", so I understand what it means, but I don't know what to call it.

existing know-how

Explanation:
It literally means "past" or 'legacy". You could also say previous know-how, or existing intellectual property.
I wouldn't bother translating "di una parte" here.

agree  James (Jim) Davis: I would use "legacy" because it gives the idea of something you are lumbered with.
