Dva studenti se soukromě baví o článku v novinách (těsně před WW II)

Jde mi o to jestli se ve slovenštině tohle slovo používá ve smyslu "proklatí', nebo jestli je to běžnějši v tom druhém, 'lidovějším' smyslu.

I wouldn't be afraid to use the strongest expletive, although I'm not 100% sure if it fits the time frame... "Poondiaty" has a strong negative connotation, and is usually uttered in anger - IMHO.

a "polite" replacement for the word "fucking." This word is more acceptable in public, but everyone knows what it means, so it should still not be used in polite company. Also fricking.

The same (some sort of "politeness" and public acceptability to a degree, but this is of course highly debatable) is true of 'poondiaty', I'd say.
