Industrial administration Explanation: It seems it is a job description commonly seen for engineers' positions in particular for science and tech administration positions for the government or government agencies in Japan such as the Japan Patent Office (JPO). For instance, you can find a job description for a patent examiner on the JPO's website or other websites citing as follows: 産業行政等の事務に通算5年以上従事し、うち3年以上特許庁において審査の事務に従事した者 ('(the necessary requirements include:) being involved in industrial administration, etc. work for at least five years in aggregate, including at least three years of experience in handling (patent) examination-related tasks at the JPO." Such industrial administration work may include work for public research institutes, universities and other organisations of public nature (but excluding private companies). If there is a word '等 (etc.)' after the word '産業行政 (administration administration)', it would include private companies. Concerning this case, as it does not have '等 (etc.)', it would not include private companies. I hope this would be of help!
