受託に係る自由土地保有権の下 Explanation: Hi. It might be easier to understand by dividing the sentence into two parts: 'freehold titles' and 'held in trust'. Freehold titles: 自由土地保有権. There is no equivalent right in Japanese since the original meaning is the right to use or occupy the land without the time limit, which is granted by monarchs of Great Britain. 所有権 is the closest in Japanese but the freehold titles do not grant an absolute ownership like 所有権 so 自由土地保有権 would be better. "held in trust" can be translated as "受託". Please see the reference for further information. It seems that the Act granted Aborigine a certain ownership right to occupy land but it attached two limitations: one is freehold, not absolute ownership, and the other is it is 'held in trust' (i.e. not their right but keeping the right for someone's sake). Hope this would be of help. Reference: http://ejje.weblio.jp/content/%E5%8F%97%E8%A8%97 |
