to declare guilty in absentia Explanation: I don't think there really is an equivalent in English-speaking countries, as far as I know. Since we have "to try in absentia" we might extend the idea, if "contestar afirmativamente," is to mean confess, or declare oneself guilty. |

En el caso, "se allana a la demanda" por su ausencia; es decir por no contestar ni defenderse se le tiene confesando todo lo que se expone en su contra.
