Reference: Overview of gold images Reference information: A gold image is a master or "template" virtual machine installation that you can deploy to multiple users for dynamic instantiation. A gold image combines a guest operating system, applications, system-wide desktop configuration, and policies that are layered with individual user data when deployed. One or more gold images are managed by the management console. Note: Before you can begin creating a gold image, copy the operating system ISO image file to a directory in the master server, or place a DVD image of the operating system in the physical drive. If you use an ISO image, place a copy in the fileserver application, or they use an SCP type tool to place the ISO files somewhere in the home directory. If you elect to use ISO image, you need the full path when referencing it during gold image creation, for example: Reference: http://pic.dhe.ibm.com/infocenter/ibmfsb/v2r1/index.jsp?topi... |
