We are translating a manual for a CO2 Gas Laser Processing Machine, the translation is Polish-Dutch, but we received an English manual as reference (the English version was translated from Japanese!). We are looking for a correct translation of the term "condition".
Some context where this term appears in the English manual:
1. Time taken to startup depends on the number of processing conditions registered in the NC. If it takes too
much time to switch to the main screen, delete unnecessary conditions. (About 1000 conditions is
recommended.)
2. Use the high-power condition when performing centering with parameters (power, frequency, duty) of the cutting
condition set in the program. Refer to the next section on “Basic operation – Cutting”.
4. You will find folders named “cnd” for conditions and “subpro” and “main” for programs pre-installed. The time it takes to search a condition depends on how many conditions are saved in the specified folder.
If it takes too much time, divide conditions into a number of folders. (We recommend no more than 500
conditions in a folder.)
5. Set condition / select condition / search condition / piercing condition / processing condition / corner condition

Explanation:
Zo lees ik het. Maar er zijn volgens mij "hoofdopties" en "subopties", zo kan je wellicht beginnen met Hoofdoptie "Cirkel" met dan nog subopties als "geruwd oppervlak", randen afgeschuind etc. Hier wordt echter geen onderscheid gemaakt in het Engles en dat maakt het een rommeltje. De "opties" zijn dan "fysiek" die dan worden ondesteund met programmasoftware...

Wellicht dat het woord "bepalen" wordt bedoeld maar dan vanuit het perspectief van gebruiker (die bepaalt).
