supported by the leaf spring Explanation: 'molle' is 'spring', according to the UIC dictionary of railway terminology, and it appears that "balestra" is a leaf spring - see http://www.wordreference.com/iten/balestra It's easy enough to assume the italian word "sostegni" means 'sustained' or 'held in place'... -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 8 days (2014-09-09 08:14:24 GMT) Post-grading -------------------------------------------------- Hi lusatia, Without having a diagram, I cannot say for certain, but it looks as if they are talking about the 'spring hangers' (the spring anchorages) which is rather putting the cart before the horse, as the spring hangers support the springs, rather than the other way round. Then the springs 'support' (or carry) the axle-boxes. |
