Das Problem liegt daran, dass dieser Begriff bereits übersetzt worden ist und dass Sie wahrscheinlich eine (geringe) Korrektion zu diesem Begriff machen müssen.

Uns interessieren hier aber zwei Aspekte:
Erstens: die Definition von Duden und diese ist hier angegeben:

Findling
1. (seltener) Findelkind
2. (Geologie) erratischer Block
Natürlich kommt die zweite Option nicht in Frage.

Von einer Pflanze ist hier also natürlich , aber nicht NUR die Rede. ( ich betone- nicht nur). Gemeint ist wahrscheinlich auch die erwähnte Metapher, die in der Übersetzung zum Ausdruck kommen sollte.
