Обратная ситуация - non-manifold, при которой невозможно определить, какая поверхность проектируемой детали внутренняя, а какая внешняя. Каркас - не серединная оболочка нулевой толщины. Толщина детали обеспечивается замкнутостью каркаса (сетки).
