exercise studio Explanation: I know your customer has said they want to call it a hall, but "studio" sounds much more comfortable and upmarket. And I know yoga, aerobics and dance are also paths to spiritual enlightenment, but they're all forms of exercise, as my reference shows. "Exercise studio" gets over 250,000 hits. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 hr (2015-07-07 20:14:29 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- "Exercise hall" would be an alternative if your customer insists on it. movement hall Explanation: I think "room" would be much better than "hall", personally, but if that's what your client wants, that's what it'll have to be. This is just a suggestion. Unless you're going to go for something like "self-expression", which is perhaps a bit over the top in English, "movement" covers a lot of possibilities, and although it might suggest dance (though actually a "salle d'expression" could well be used for some sorts of dance), I think it might fit things like yoga and Pilates. "This application is for a detached single-storey PE and dance facility comprising two dance studios, a PE and movement hall, changing rooms, storage areas, a teaching space and small reception area." http://ww3.wandsworth.gov.uk/committ/Data/Planning Applicati... "MOVEMENT ROOM: Located at 146 E. Main Street, Waterloo Fit for Yoga, Pilates, Tai Chi or other mind/body modality. Perfect for one on one & small group sessions." http://fingerlakes.craigslist.org/spa/5059428855.html -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 2 hrs (2015-07-07 20:52:05 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- "Bam Construction has won the £11.5m contract to replace the current Harborne Academy in the West Midlands with a new building. The academy project includes health and science facilities and new community facilities for the Edgbaston and Harborne area. These will include a national standard sports hall, a movement hall, drama studio, a main hall, dining facilities and learning resource centre to compliment the range of classrooms and outdoor learning spaces." http://www.constructionenquirer.com/2012/04/20/bam-wins-11-5... |
