English term or phrase: dead leg
It is important that the atomizing steam is dry and slightly superheated at the burner. Line must be lagged to the burner. Water will destabilize a low NOx burner gas flame so when preparing to introduce steam to an oil gun, it must be possible to drain the dead leg to the burner. Steam traps should be fitted.

Asker: Σύμφωνα με τον πελάτη η περιγραφή του είναι: It means that : up-stream of the burner, it must be a drain point for any water in the steam flow.

Dead legs are sections of process piping that have been isolated and no longer maintain a flow of liquid or gas. They are often formed in industrial process piping as processes are changed or modified. Dead legs have been the cause of several industrial incidents, especially during the winter months.

Re: What does the term 'dead leg' mean re plumbing

a dead leg is a redundant length of pipework(usually when modifications are made) which is left in place and capped,or it could just be something which is no longer used ie acting deadleg.
