I am searching for a snappy way of expressing this term in as few words as possible... It's proving a challenge, as I'm sure German scholars will appreciate. Would be grateful for any ideas. It's from a press release for a dating app.

undateable?

Explanation:
Just an idea, although I guess the word is probably referring to a relationship, in which case I can't really think of any succinct way of saying it. 'Incapable of forming a relationship with' is the best I can come up with, but I'm not completely happy with it.

neutral  Ed Ashley: I really want to like this, but I think it says more about how inherently undateable a person is, and less about their outlook on life and attitude towards relationships, which seems to be the broader context. But perhaps I'm splitting hairs!

agree  Ed Ashley: Yes to your suggestions at 48 mins, of which I probably prefer The Me, Myself, I Generation. From what I've gleaned, it does seem to be about ego and attitude towards relationships. A pretty devilish term to translate! // Glad to be among fellow geeks! :)

-> That's the whole challenge! I LOVE it! but it also goes to show how absolutely VITAL context and background information are to an accurate translation.

agree  BrigitteHilgner: "Me First Generation" is my favourite expression.

antisocial, unsociable, withdrawn

Explanation:
It means incapable of bonding, but that's not very snappy. It would be useful to have the sentence in which the expression occurs.

Just a suggestion. Not just how others might judge them, but how they might also describe themselves. As a title: The Unattached & Unattachables, or The Unattachables

Nothing sexist about it. Many studies have shown the correlation between the relationships between fathers and daughters, and the difficulties the latter may have later on in building relationships with men.

Asker: Sorry, but with the best will in the world, your second title sounds a tad sexist. Don't know if you meant it that way of course.
