English term or phrase: qualifying paper
Bonjour,

Dans une description accompagnant un relevé de notes, comment traduiriez-vous le terme "qualifying paper" dans le contexte ci-dessous:

"To be eligible for the Master of Arts in the History of Art, a student must complete 11 semester courses for graduate credit and 2 Winter Study Projects; maintain a grade point average of at least B-; demonstrate proficiency in 2 foreign languages; and, in the second year, present a qualifying paper at a graduate symposium."

Merci de votre aide

mémoire qualifiant
Explanation:
I.e., present a paper whose assessment contributes to the acquisition (or not) of the MA.
From a brochure concerning studies at Paris 3:

The quote is on page 26 (it's a long document!!)

Ce mémoire de troisième année est un mémoire qualifiant, dont la note participe pour le quart à la note globale du diplôme.

Concerning symposia, conferences etc., the expression "faire une présentation" is often used: in which case one could say "faire une présentation qualifiante", I suppose, but I have not found convincing references for this.

neutral  katsy: I am not sure: your references concern qualifying (1st ref) to be an "enseignant chercheur" and (2nd ref) qualifying for approval to supervise theses/research. Here it is about obtaining an MA
