Dank Alisons Beitrag zur Diskussion ist jetzt klar, dass es sich um Isolierdurchführungen handelt, auf English "insulating bushings", so wie ich das von Anfang an vermutet hatte.

In all references I have found, the term "Isolierkerzen" is only used for oil-filled insulators, but it could be that in this context, the more generic term "insulator" is better: any cracked insulator can be thermally detected.
