Swedish term or phrase: permissionsplats
Can anyone tell me what a "permissonsplats" is on a hospital ward please?
Here's a contextual example taken from a pdf on Google:
Vid **permissionsplats** ingår sjukvårdande behandling och läkemedel.
Polikliniska patienter med besök under vistelsen betalar sjukvårdande behandling och läkemedel upp till högkostnadsskydd.

(assigned place in hospital hotel)

Explanation:
I don't think there is a good direct translation here.
Assuming this refers to the SÄS Hotell at Borås (see reference), I think that ’permission’ here refers to capable patients being ”signed off” to leave the general wards to stay in this accommodation and look after themselves hotel-wise, while still receiving hospital medical treatment.
In which case, I would translate the whole sentence as
” If the patient is formally assigned to SÄS Hotell, the charge includes the cost of medical care and medicines”.
(This is in contrast to Out Patients who have to pay for these, up to a maximum limit.)
Needless to say this concept is unknown in UK.

ambulatory/outpatient care facility

Explanation:
As Michael says, there is very little to no concept of this in the U.K, but I believe it best describes what the source Swedish text is referring to. This does appear to be a known entity in the US.

disagree  Michael Ellis: I think this corresponds to "out-patient care" (polyklinik) as the reference says, and doesn't cover this Swedish hospital's facility to let patients live separately from the wards in a type of internal hotel.
