English translation: Compensatory damages

Thai to English translations [PRO]
Law/Patents - Law (general)
Thai term or phrase: ช่วยเหลือด้านมนุษยธรรม
This term appears in reference to a large amount of money paid to the parents of a fatal motorcycle accident victim.

I've translated it directly as 'Humanitarian Assistance' however, I don't think this is suitable for this context.

Thanks for your advice.

Notes to answerer
Asker: This response is most suitable. However, I've used it as 'compensation for damages'.

agree  Steve James: Asker's notes don't make it quite clear whether the payment was compelled by the court. If the payment was court-ordered, then this is the right term, even if the payment was made in an out-of-court settlement to avoid or end a lawsuit. Shutting up now!
