Ha, ha, much easier for you that way, you´re made of stone! Explanation: I don´t know... there seem to be so many options. Such as: Ha, ha! It would not be that easier if you, stones, were only flesh and blood. |

must be nice, wouldn't that be nice?, if only, what I wouldn't give... Explanation: If I understood this correctly... she and the newspaper seller/hawker had a one-night stand, inadvertently mimicking the passion they saw every day in the statue in the plaza. She wakes up in the morning and he's up and left. Time passes, every once in a while she reminisces about that crazy outburst of passion. She looks at the statue of the two lovers in an eternal embrace and thinks about how momentary her own romance was. Thus, must be nice to be a statue... to have a lover gaze endlessly into your eyes and never let go. Who wouldn't prefer that to the temporary nature that afflicts every human endeavor, who wouldn't prefer that to loss and the memories that haunt one afterward? Ha, stone! Must be nice... Ha, stone! Wouldn't that be nice? Ha, stone! If only... Ha, stone! What I wouldn't give... |
