I was able to google a bit more context to your question and determined that the term has to to do with mining structures [Technische Anforderungen an Schacht- und Schrägförderanlagen ] .
My trusty Bucksch Dictionary of Geotechnical Engnieering says "Tragbund= Druckstrebe"
The entry under "Druckstrebe" says: Sprieße, Spreize, Band, Steife, Stützband, Tragband, Strebe(band): strut, stay (brace); bracer (US) and a few more regional variants
