English term or phrase: load centre
CONTEXT:
What is meant by the term “load centre” as it applies to lift trucks?
It is the measurement given forward from the front face of the fork arms to the
centre of gravity of the load.

The truck’s maximum carrying capacity will be reduced when the load centre is increased.

The Load Centre is the point measured from the heel of the forks to the centre of gravity of the load providing the load is evenly distributed on the pallet.

A standard British pallet is 1200mm wide x 1000mm deep. If we pick up the pallet width ways the load centre is 500mm. If we pick up the pallet length ways then the load centre is 600mm.

The load centre is increased when the centre of gravity is further away from the heel of the forks i.e. when their is a gap left between the pallet and the heel of the forks, as the centre of gravity is further away then the capacity of the truck will be reduced.

This is basically the same as lifting a heavy object close to your body which you can do with relative ease but when you extend your arms it is much more difficult. Technically the load centre cannot be decreased.

When a load is being lifted in the air the load centre itself cannot change as it's position on the forks will remain the same but the centre of gravity will change as it raises with the load.

położenie środka ciężkości obciążenia

Explanation:
IMO sprawa jest prosta. Autor napisał jednoznacznie: It is the measurement given forward from the front face of the fork arms to the centre of gravity of the load. To jest definicja określenia "load centre" na potrzeby tego tekstu. Autor użył dwóch wyrazów, ja uważam, że polsku konieczne są cztery.

Ewentualnie "ładunek" zamiast "obciążenia".

Notes to answerer
Asker: Nie jestem przekonana, że aż tak prosta, bo instruktor napisał, że jak wynika jest to pojęcie różne od środka ciężkości. Jak dla mnie, to chodzi o odległość: "Load centre is as described above and depends entirely on whether the load is evenly distributed however if this is not the case then the centre of gravity will be in a different place. Every object has a centre of gravity, It is the point where the load is balanced in all directions so if the weight of the load is more to one side than the other then the centre of gravity will not be in the centre of the load.

Asker: Dziękuję za pomoc i sugestie.
