I think this is almost certainly an architectural feature. Why? Essentially because of the way the sentence is phrased. Context. Sorry, Phil, but I don't go with your suggested "24-hour security". That could be an alarm system, for example. And there is nothing to suggest a round-the-clock security provision. A "guérite" can also suggest a surveillance point that is above ground-level. It might not be at the entrance either. Unless you can get some info from the client, then some of the more general solutions you have come up with may do the trick.
