That's why I posted these context fragments three days ago. One of them was: "...weil man glauben könnte, man müsse zu seinem therapeutischen Fortschritt nichts beitragen, außer sich bequem hinzusetzen und die Augen zu schließen, den Rest mache dann der Therapeut."
To me, wish away suggests you do nothing and hope for the best. But that is not what the above says; you actually do something (whether it's effective is not the point).
As for your reply to Ramey's comment: "For any glossary, I would also write the bare infinitive form..."
I agree. You can make those changes later, though, so I think it's fine if you just write down what you think fits best.

Yes, you could but that would change the meaning, I believe.
As Steffen and I have already established, wegsuggerieren is done by the healer. However, if you used wish away, the implied subject of the passive sentence would be the patient (who wishes things away).
Most answerers took this into account (see also Frank's explanation), though I agree with Michele regarding symptoms vs. signs.
"suggested away" may seem (too?) literal, but it has been used in similar contexts. The second quote is from a native speaker of English. (Harold Rosen, an American psychiatrist).
In 1961, Meares expressed concern about premature termination. Also, Weizenhoffer warned against inappropriate symptom removal “before symptoms are *suggested away* some of the functions they serve should be determined.”
This symptom, like other conversion symptoms, may mask an underlying depression that can come to the fore, even in suicidal proportions, if the pain be *suggested away* without giving the patient something positive in its stead (patient No. 6).

This means the symptoms may disappear, though the underlying problems will manifest themselves another way.

Considering the above, it seems that this is some form of hypnosis, though to be honest, I'm hoping someone with more experience than me in, say, all things esoteric could chime in here.
...Steffen. To be clear, I don't support any of the answers (so far). A crucial bit of context is the use of the passive voice. It's "...wegsuggeriert werden," which means this is the healer's doing. It's not "autosuggestion" (yet). This is even more important here than it is in other contexts, IMO, because it's a self-help book. In essence, you aren't supposed to let other "magically cure" you, but you need to get off your ... and do something about it.
...it's not the patient's doing, so wish away doesn't work, IMO. Suggerieren = to suggest.

They are not explaining (away) anything; what they're doing is: "Direct suggestion of symptom-disappearance.

Explanation: I am not entirely sure I understand the German connotation here. If the tone remains in the style of 'gelöscht werden' and the point is to talk about a 'willful' removal of the symptoms, then it certainly works. If wegsuggerieren somehow means the symptoms really have subsided, disappeared, 'wish away' might not work.

Im Nachhinein: please refer to the discussion before (not) choosing this suggestion, turns out not to be appropriate for the context after all. 'Wegsuggerieren' seems to be an established term in hypnotherapy, not a 'straggler' without a history, which is how I approached it.
