Professor / Chair Explanation: I'm not sure there is an exact equivalent due to the different education systems. In the US, the term "Professor" can be confusing because it is used to mean three very different things: Anyone who teaches a college class. A tenured or tenure-track faculty member who is at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Full Professor. A faculty member at the rank of Full Professor.
