Portuguese term or phrase: apenas no comprimento (in context of hair treatment)
To use the literal translation here does not seem right i.e. "Apply to the tips and 'length' of the hair and finalise by brushing out"? Any suggestions like 'run of the hair' body ???, below is full text.

Aplique o Spray Proteína Intensiva apenas no comprimento e pontas e finalize escovando.

CONDITIONER MISTAKE #3: YOU PUT IT ON YOUR ROOTS
Hold it right there! It’s a good idea to apply conditioner only where it’s needed the most—i.e. your mid-lengths to your ends since this part of your hair tends to be drier. Also, for most hair types, applying conditioner at the roots can weigh down your hair and even cause your roots to appear greasy—right after you’ve washed them. To avoid both of these dilemmas, it’s best to only apply conditioner on your lengths and ends.

Desse jeito, acho que facilita a compreensão de onde se deve aplicar, sugerindo a medida. Além disso, mantém o tom de instrução.

apply lengthwise only

Explanation:
This is the usual form, with 'only' at the end rather than in the middle of the phrase

Notes to answerer
Asker: Paul, This suggestion was already mooted, however within the context of this sort of terminology I have my doubts, - e.g. If you did not apply it lengthwise how else wud u apply the product - across or transversally? Doesnt make sense to me. As I mentioned, I have done many of these hair product things for this client over the years, and normally these products that you cant spread over the full length they usually say "apply maintaining the product xx cms from the roots/scalp" - I fairly sure this is what they trying to say although one cannot presume. Maybe apply from mid-length to tips??
