I think the certificate of analysis that shows how well an antibacterial product has performed by comparing the amount of bacteria on a sample treated with the antibacterial product and an untreated control sample. If the result says 'NS', then from what I can tell, this means that the bacteria didn't survive on the control sample (which would mean that it couldn't be compared very well with the treated sample). If I had to guess, I would say it stood for 'non-significant' as there would probably be no significant difference between the treated and untreated samples. However, I think that the best way to find out would be to ask the issuer of the certificate. Certificates with this wording seem to be from one source only - IMSL in Hampshire in England.
