Von der Maschine wird nach Dateneingabe die Sektionsbreite für jedes Schärband berechnet. Diese Berechnung beruht auf den Parametern Baumbreite, Gesamtfadenzahl und vorhandene Fadenzahl aus den (sic!) Gatter. Aus dieser Berechnung entsteht eine sogenannte Sektionsbreite (Bandbreite). Diese Sektionsbreite ist ein Bruchteil der Baumbreite. Diese Berechnung ist Grundlage für den Verfahrensweg des Supports.
Es handelt sich immer noch um die Textilmaschine:

Es gibt die zusätzliche Möglichkeit, die Berechnung manuell zu beeinflussen und abzuändern. Dies kann durch unterschiedliche Fadenzahlen sowie durch Hinzufügen von *Leisten* notwendig sein. Es hat zur Folge, dass die Sektionsbreiten unterschiedlich sind.
