Russian term or phrase: travmpunkt
Interview with a drug user.
He is talking about when he took drugs in the '80s. Someone used to get them from the 'travmpunkt'.
Is this a 1st aid room or could it be a medical store in a hospital?

20 mins

neutral  danya: not at a factory site
30 mins

agree  Jolanta Schimenti
44 mins

agree  Kurt Porter: If this is a stand-alone unit where injuries are treated 24/7, then I'd go with First Aid Center (or Station). If it's in the hospital, Emergency Room.
59 mins

agree  Tatiana Yudovina: With Kurt. It can be at a factory site, but usually a stand alone unit, so it is not a ward or department. In this context, Fist Aid Station would work, as something not designed to treat drug addiction.
2 hrs

agree  Mariya Almeida: First Aid Station
17 hrs

agree  Kevin Kelly: Another possibility, although possibly not ideal for this context, is Trauma Unit.

Accidents and Emergency department in a hospital

Explanation:
A and E is the closest equivalent in British hospitals. Travmpunkt would be a part of the A and E which covers more than just injuries.

-> Yes, it is a part of a hospital

agree  Martinique: or Accident and Emergency room
2 hrs
  -> thank you Martinique

agree  sergey (X): i think they were after strong pain killers, like opium etc, and that would be locked in an A and E in a hospital, not in some stand alone first aid place

emergency surgery

Explanation:
the word is short for травматологический пункт
they are usually located at hospitals, are open 24/7 and deal mostly with urgent traumas like concussions, fractures, wounds - if the "traumatised" may be treated as out-patients, then help is rendered and the patient goes home bandaged or whatever; if not, he's sent over to hospital

alas, been to such places several times meself 8-//

the difference with a first aid is that travmpunkts deal mostly with surgery, no infections or whatever

First Aid Station would be станция скорой помощи, not travmpunkt
