Explanation:
You can search within Amazon.com for selected books, and actually "flip" through them. I think they scan in the pages and somehow all words on the page are registered... so you can not only flip through the books, but do a word search on them. The link for The Girl with the Pearl Earring is:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/reader/0452282152/ref=sib_vae_pg_98...

and the quote, from p. 98, is:
"... were kept where, naming the colors as he went. I had not heard of many of the words-ultramarine , vermilion, massicot. The brown and yellow earth colors and the bone black and lead white were stored in little earthenware pots, covered ..."

Since \"massicot\" occurs in English dictionaries such as Webster\'s why don\'t keep this term?

marzacotto

Explanation:
Give someone a thrill and use the original Italian. Massicot is a bastardization of this word, (meaning lead oxide yellow). You know how bad the French are at foreign languages. The paper cutter is named after a frog called Massicot. (Petit Larousse illustré 1988).
