Does anyone know exactly what these superscipt "a's" are and how best to handle them?

Estuve mirando en http://www2.unex.es/gerencia/constit.htm, la constitución, el texto, y no aparece. POdrá ser un °? De todos modos el ° a partir del número 10 no estaría bien utilizado, pero no encuentro en la constitución esa referencia. Un saludo. Sigo viendo.

Sorry, como decía articles me confundí. Yo pondría entonces 8th, 23rd, and so on.

Explanation:
One rather long way to write them is "twenty-third, sixteenth and eighth indents", though you may prefer to write the numbers with figures instead.
