Albanian term or phrase: periudhë (in this context)
I have a transcript of records from University of Prishtina. There is some text about the length of courses, where the word "periudhe" appears -- twice, with different explanations.

I suppose you have translated this kind of documents, too. Only once I added a translator's note to the translation, in most cases I don't. When I did, I felt I didn't want to be blamed for the difference (= somebody suspecting a translation mistake).

This is what it looks like:

2) Kohëzgjatja e lëndës mësimore/kursit:
V = 1 vit akademik të plotë
1S = 1 semester; 2S = 2 semestra
**1T = 1 periudhë/tre semestra; 2T = 2 periudha/tre semestra**

And

(5) ECTS pikët kredituese:
1 vit i plotë akademik = 60 pikë kredituese
1 semester = 30 pikë kredituese
**1 periudhë/tremester = 20 pikë kredituese**

As you can see, one period is defined first as three “semestra” i.e. 3 x half a year. Then as “tremester” i.e. 1/3 of a full year), according to the amount of credit points.

Seems to me that the first definition is wrong. What do you think?

This is the English version, from EU:

2) Duration of course:
Y = 1 full academic year
1S = 1 semester
1T = 1 term/trimester
2S = 2 semesters
2T = 2 terms/trimesters

Explanation:
There are many mistakes in the parts you quoted and this is not because you transcribed in wrongly but because they were originally written wrongly.
For example, saying "pike kredituese" is wrong. And I know that those from Kosovo usually make these mistakes (have translated for them more than 1 million words).
I would go with the EU version without any doubt.
The term "period" there is simply irrelevant because right after that, separated by a slash, they have provided the correct term i.e. trimester, semester, etc.

ECTS pikët kredituese is obviously wrong. It should have been written as "Kredite sipas ECTS-së".

As for the translator's note, I do not think it is necessary in this case because the term "duration" clearly gives the meaning of "periudhë" which is synonymous to "kohëzgjatje".

I hope this helps.

I think it has to be trimester.

I took a look at one of the transcript of records I had to translate. Here is what it reads regarding part 2)
1T - 1 periudhe/ tre semestra 2T = 2 periudha/tremestra

Apparently they meant "tremestra" when giving the definition of 1T.

If you read item 6 of your text, it becomes a bit clearer: 1 periudhe/tremester

Item 1 of that text refers you to the ECTS Information Package which means that the terms have the meaning provided in that document.
So "periudhe" means "trimester".
