Court of Reconciliation counselor

Explanation:
Organisations, such as the UN, often establish tribunals to assist in resolving conflicts in a more speedy and less costly manner. In your example, it would be titled as "Court of Reconciliation". The Court is frequently formed of judges and counselors, with the latter assigned with the task of trying to reconcile differences and resolve conflict(s). All the best.

Hi Peter: No, in fact, I've not encountered the term while here -- I mean in Egyptian documents -- but I did run into it in the past when reading or translating Arabic manuscripts submitted to tribunals, possibly one in the Hague. Frankly, I couldn't remember the term right away and had to dig to find it. What attracted me to the term most was that early in Arab culture when conflicts erupted between tribes a رقيب الصلح was often appointed to assist in resolving them. As you know there was no judiciary system at all then. Good luck with your work. It's always great to see Brits who have a passion for the Arabic language as much as we too Arabs have for the English language.

Well done, Peter, and my apologies for I didn't notice that that was mainly a bankruptcy case; I thought it was a dispute resolution case.
