كن شجاعاً - تحلّى بالصبر

Explanation:
The transliterations of the above are: "Kun Shuja'an - Tahalla bis-Sabr", that's if you're talking to a male.If you're talking to a female "كوني شجاعة - تحلي بالصبر" transliteration: "Kooni Shuja'ah - Tahalli bis-Sabr.
The above literally means "be strong - be patient".
As for the rest of the sentence:
"have strength, you will get thru this troubling time" what I suggest is for you to use a common Egyptian proverb, saying, word of wisdom .. call it what you will, which is : "أزمة وتزول"
"Azmah We Tzool".
Meaning "a crisis/troubling time which will soon pass".

Explanation:
The word of wisdom that I used above is alternatively used as:"Sheddah We Tzool"
"شدة وتزول" and it means the same thing.
This is the more commone use of it though.
I hope it is "Sheddah We Tzool" for your friend.
